UGS invests in North West depot
National builders' merchant UGS has invested nearly GBP300,000 in improving its North West depot near Leigh (near Warrington).
The depot at Pocket Nook Lane off Newton Road in Lowton supplies a number of key civil engineering projects in the North West.
The investment has enabled UGS to improve the branch's product offering to the general public and smaller builders, especially for collected items.
Commenting on the project, UGS managing director Paul Beaman said: "This depot is key to our presence in the North West and the investment enables us to build our service to the DIY and local construction market, while continuing our excellent track record in regional civil engineering projects".
The investment has provided additional parking, a newly resurfaced yard, improved product storage, as well as refurbished offices and trade counter, complete with new landscaping display areas, a new delivery truck and signage.
The Lowton depot supplies building and drainage materials, all available on a delivery or collection basis.
UGS also provides a customer reward card offering savings and the chance to win holidays and prizes.
The fastest growing independent UK builders' merchant, UGS has 207 employees and 14 outlets acquired since its formation in 1995.
Headquartered in Banbury, UGS also has depots at Shipston on Stour, Birmingham, Norwich, Ipswich, Kirkby in Ashfield, Hucknall, Cardiff, Cross Hands (Llanelli), Exeter, Newcastle on Tyne, Chesterfield and Braintree.
