Sustainable energy - the Unico Renewables range

An Unico Climate Control product story

Unico Climate Control on how homes and commercial premises can save money on central heating and air conditioning.

A complete series of renewable energy sources and delivery options, the only complete range of its type, has been announced by Unico Climate Control.

Covering central heating and air conditioning, sustainable energy choices and a hot water thermal store, the Unico Renewables range will save money and energy in homes and commercial premises.

Central to the Unico Climate Control range is the Unico System, recognised for its high comfort characteristics and suitability for renewables, using relatively low grade heat.

Freedom from radiators and draughts, together with even temperatures, have made the Unico System a favourite with self-builders and architects and the unique high-velocity small-duct technology means the system is ideal for period buildings or where space for pipework or ducting is limited.

At the heart of the renewables range is the UniHub, designed to keep energy in the home or business and recycle it to various water systems.

It is a cost-effective addition to any house or office, designed to take source and supply tubing from up to five different systems.

UniHub employs advanced liquid swirling techniques to achieve maximum exchange of heat energy and is specifically configured for maximum efficiency in low-grade heat applications, such as geothermal or air source heat pumps.

The solar heating series, UniSol, comprises high-efficiency collectors and a range of pipework, valves, thermostats and other components to complete the system.

Kits are available for flat roofs and angled locations and the system is designed to be as unobtrusive as possible, connecting to other energy sources as necessary.

The UniChiller series of reverse-cycle air source heat pumps, with a class-leading C.O.P.

Of up to 4.5:1, now sees the addition of the UniHeat, a heat-only model in three sizes.

All air source heat pumps are manufactured in Unico's own factories using technology built over four decades.

All models are suitable for outdoor installation, carry a small footprint and are built to last with stainless steel fan unit and rugged components.

Rounding off the renewable energy sources is the UniTherm series of ground source heat pumps, built to deliver high efficiency at even low ground temperatures.

Used with the UniHub, UniTherm heat pumps cycle less than similar, competitive units and therefore carry better overall C.O.P performance as well as better system life.

Last, but by no means least, in the Unico armoury is one of the most complete ranges of underfloor heating system available.

UniTube is based on a proprietary tubing, with pert-al-pert layers bonded together for a heat-efficient, flexible and long-lasting product that is quick to install and offers excellent energy characteristics.

The system comes with a wide choice of manifolds, thermostats, valves and other components.

With its renewables range, Unico Climate Control ensures that the best combination of technologies is available for every building, domestic or commercial.

While most manufacturers push one type of heating or cooling exclusively, Unico Climate Control can recommend the most suitable source and delivery system for the job.

"We have brought together a broad range of technologies to offer the contractor or user the most efficient use of both money and energy," says chairman Rod Hickmott.

"With the total renewables package we are the only manufacturer to provide true choice based on suitability rather than product offering.".
