New product fills the safety gap.

South Wales-based specialist building products manufacturer, Uniq Extrusions has launched a new gap filler for the scaffolding market that promises to prevent accidents and, possibly, save lives on building sites.

Called Uniq-Scaffgap, the extruded profile aims to reduce the incidence of one of the most common causes of injury on construction sites, that of falling objects hitting site operatives.

Uniq- Scaffgap provides a quick, easy and economical means of filling the 50mm gap between scaffold boards that is created by the inside supporting standards, a gap that is large enough to allow most site debris, hand tools and small equipment to fall through.

Until now, the most common way of bridging this gap, and thereby assuring site safety, has been to cut and fix timber strips to the scaffold boards, a time-consuming process which can compromise the integrity of the boards and create a tripping hazard.

Uniq-Scaffgap offers a safer and more convenient alternative.

Uniq-Scaffgap simply clips between scaffold boards without the need for nail, screw or adhesive fixing and, being manufactured from a high impact polymer material, Uniq-Scaffgap is lightweight, tough and hardwearing, with the capability of being used time after time.
