Profuse Gas Pipe To Be Made In Smaller Diameters

A Radius Systems product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Oct 14, 2003

Uponor's multi-award winning ProFuse PE 100 peelable skin pipe for gas will soon be available in smaller diameters, following approval by National Grid Transco (NGT).

The pipe is scheduled to be made in diameters as small as 250mm in gas; it has already been available in these diameters for some time as a potable water pipe.

The new sizes will include 250, 315, 355 and 400mm diameters, adding to the 450, 500 and 630mm large sizes already available, and will include a full range of compatible fittings.

As product and marketing manager Chris Greaves reveals, the new sizes will further extend the application envelope for this important and innovative product: "The advantages of the peelable skin will continue to ensure the best possible surfaces for electrofusion jointing, thereby maintaining the quality standards that have been set with the introduction of this innovative product." The new diameters are being produced now and training programmes are being developed to support the introduction.
