Uponor: Severn Trent Water's Supplier Of The Year

Its Severn Trent Water has named pipe manufacturer Uponor its Underground Assets Supplier Team of the Year - for the second year running.

Uponor has now won the award three times in six years, and additionally was runner-up in 2001.

Uponor MD Stuart Godfrey was delighted with the win, saying: "Once again Uponor has proved it is the company to aspire to in the utility supply industry and it is due to the consistently excellent efforts of all our people that we have again won this award." Uponor was one of six nominees for the prestigious award, which was presented to Stuart Godfrey and team at a special event held on Thursday 13 November.

The awards were hosted by Severn Trent's Director of Engineering and Procurement, Ian Elliott, and Uponor's award was presented by Severn Trent Water Chairman, David Arculus.

Ian Elliott's citation read: ".These are the unseen gems in our asset base but strategically we look for dependability and value.

This year's winning supplier has demonstrated consistent performance across the key indicators and particular mention should go to their excellent performance in product delivery and their performance in areas of health and safety and the environment.

Their management of the supply chain has proved invaluable on a number of occasions and further enhancement planned for the future will benefit both parties.

"Last but by no means least is this supplier's emphasis on collaborative working with Severn Trent.

They continue to provide excellent resources to manage contracts, make available distinguished expertise to enhance technical performance and afford exceptional support to develop Severn Trent and Severn Trent staff." Robert Munson, Severn Trent's chief buyer for contract pipes, also accepted an award for his role.
