Uponor's large diameter (630mm) Easigrip couplers in conjunction with ProFuse pipe are proving popular in gas mains replacement installations all over the UK, due to their high performance along with significant installation times saved on site.

Where more traditional couplers can take up to 155 minutes to weld and cool, the Uponor Easigrip one-shot coupler used on a ProFuse pipe saves 35 minutes on the weld and cool times alone.

Additionally, it is easier to assemble as it features slip-fit rather than scrape-fit technology, and when combined with the ProFuse pipe system can achieve additional savings in preparation time of 30 minutes as well.

This makes the overall time saved per coupler at this diameter approximately one hour, a significant figure if several couplers are being installed.

Most importantly, the Easigrip coupler produces a superior quality joint for extended asset life.

Uponor's 630mm ProFuse gas pipe was recently used in Glasgow in conjunction with Easigrip couplers when three governor stations required replacement, due to the many tight bends involved, and fusion times were halved where Easigrip couplers were used.
