Uponor's Pipeline Utility Services is now working with Connect to carry out under-pressure gas pipe branch saddle connections.

Uponor's Pipeline Utility Services (UPLUS) is now working with the UK's largest independent utility infrastructure provider, Connect, to carry out under-pressure gas pipe branch saddle connections.

UPLUS recently became the first company under the Gas Industry Registration Scheme (GIRS) to be fully accredited to carry out gas branch saddle work with live mains at up to 7 barg pressure.

Connect was also the first company to be accredited under GIRS for the design, construction, commissioning and final connection of new gas infrastructure networks up to 7 barg pressure.

Andy Bunten, Connect's national contracts manager, commented on why UPLUS was selected: "We have worked with UPLUS for some time and they take the same professional approach to site installations as we do".

"We can therefore be confident that UPLUS will successfully undertake the required live branch saddle work wherever we work in the UK".

Connect and UPLUS are currently working on sites across the UK requiring under-pressure branch saddles.
