"It takes some skill to make sure they are not blighted by poorly thought out buildings or development." Current causes of change include the need for a considerable amount of new housing in the South East, pending National Park status and changing work patterns as more people set up home offices.

I'd like to think that we can go down as a responsible, caring and sensitive generation." The main focus for Val's start-up work load is domestic extensions and alterations, in-fill housing developments, subtle conversion of older buildings for contemporary uses, church restoration and conservation projects.
Val is highly qualified in the conservation field and has lead projects on some notable buildings, including Porchester Castle and Fort Cumberland on the coast for English Heritage, The Quaker Meeting House in Ifield, and several of Sussex's oldest churches.
"These were high profile building," says Val.
"But I delight in bringing the same skills to even the most modest private projects, where good design will add to the value of the property and meet the changing needs of the occupant.".
