Baxi turns up heat on sustainability in schools
Baxi working with National Schools Partnership have developed the Planet Power Pack, an innovative science resource for primary teachers and pupils to explore renewable energy.
As part of its drive to increase environmental awareness and educate future generations on new and low carbon technologies, Baxi has been working with the National Schools Partnership, experts in educational resources.
Teachers at 200 UK schools will receive a Planet Power Pack containing pupil activity sheets, stickers, and three fantastic experiments that demonstrate how energy can be harnessed from the sun, the wind and most interestingly of all, fruit! Pupils will also be asked to complete a week-long checklist of ways they have saved energy at home.
Jocelynne Rowan, PR Officer for Baxi, explained: "As a responsible manufacturer, we wanted to play our part in helping to educate the next generation on the benefits of renewable technologies - and what better way than to support learning in primary schools.
"We chose to work with the National Schools Partnership because of the quality of the resources they deliver into schools, and the care they take in developing resources that fall in line with the requirements of the National Curriculum".
With sustainability high on a school's education programme, the resources will engage children and help raise awareness among families of the simple ways we can save energy.
Mark Fawcett, Chief Executive of the National Schools Partnership, said about the programme: "With climate change high on everyone's agenda we see our work with Baxi as a fun, yet highly educational programme, helping to deliver the National Curriculum as well as addressing important environmental issues.
