Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Apr 5, 2006

Videx Security introduces the vandal resistant XPR TBS Touch Sensitive Switch.

New from Videx Security is the vandal resistant TBS Touch Sensitive Switch.

It is an entirely electronic and ergonomically designed access control device which can either function as an independent manually-controlled push button (push to exit device) or can be connected to a controller to facilitate access from a secure area.

The TBS is ideal for location in a wide range of commercial and industrial applications where there is potentially high risk of vandalism.

The TBS is activated with the lightest of touches and includes an adjustable timer with four settings.

With its attractive modern look and die-cast metal body, it combines aesthetics with ruggedness and reliability.

The housing is die-cast zinc alloy and the touch plate is stainless steel.

It has IP54 ingress protection.

Specifications include an input voltage of 12/24V AC/DC and a current consumption of 30mA maximum.

Two LED's are included to give visual verification of the switch status.

Operating Temperature is -15 degrees C to +55 degrees C.

It has no moving parts and as a result maintenance requirements would be minimal.
