Videx launches vandalism protection units

A Videx Security product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Feb 19, 2010

Videx Security has introduced a range of Vandal Resistant VR 5000 Series of video and audio apartment stations.

These flush mount tough units have been constructed to keep vandals at bay in locations where there is risk of deliberate damage.

They can be used with the full range of Videx door entry panels including the VX2200 system, two wire VX2300 system, 4000Series, 800 Series and vandal resistant door panels.

The VR range offers a modern and compact design practicality.

The vandal resistant face plates of the VR 5000 Series are manufactured from 12 gauge brushed stainless steel.

All the push buttons on the face plates are protected by a limiting travel back plate which makes deliberate damage difficult.

The video version features a clear 3.5inch TFT colour monitor.

Other features include a large call answer/camera recall button.

By holding the button down, the system will automatically switch into simplex speech mode.

A door release button with door released LED is provided.

On screen user information for programming and call progress make the station easy to use.

Call and speech volume as well as colour and brightness of the screen image can all be controlled by buttons on the front of the unit, giving the user the opportunity to customise settings.

The hands free voice switching technology delivers good audio quality and efficient noise cancellation.
