VEKA and Paramount 'pool' resources for
hospice
Manchester hospice has gained GBP400 and a special pool table for visitors, thanks to VEKA, Paramount Window Systems and snooker legend Steve Davis.
The six-times World Champion was special guest at a Paramount Open Day where he autographed a professional pool table before leading a draw to win the table, in aid of St Ann's Hospice But the giving didn't end there
The draw was won by VEKA's Duncan Bennett - who immediately donated the table itself to the hospice too.
The table has now been installed at St Ann's Little Hulton facility - one its three sites in the area - and Community Events Officer Margaret Beck says it is proving very popular.
''It's absolutely marvellous,'' she said.
''Our visitors really make good use of it, especially the teenagers".
Steve Davis was at the event in his role as ambassador for Network VEKA, of which Paramount is a founder member.
