Yes Telecom expansion following its relocation to Manchester premises includes Verco Office Furniture's Oblique beam desking within a major fit-out by Oldham-based ADT Workplace.

Founded in 2000, Yes Telecom is a business-to-business mobile, fixed line and data solutions communication operator with over 100,000 SOHO to SME customers managed day-to-day by a dealer channel of over 500 business partners In 2004, the company established an Advanced Solutions Division in response to demands for non-voice products and services such as BlackBerry and Mobile Broadband

Understanding the growing importance of email on the move and the convergence of IT and mobile phone technology, Yes Telecom has been providing business partners with unrivalled levels of support and technical information on wireless data solutions.

Last June (2006), the company expanded its client opportunities when it became part of the Vodafone group in a relationship enabling Yes Telecom to develop and maintain dealer relationships on behalf of Vodafone, whilst continuing to operate autonomously with its own identity.

Yes Telecom has relocated 160 staff from multi-sites in Levenshulme onto one floor of a new build in Manchester, with offices, break-out areas and restaurant supplied and fitted out by ADT Workplace.

A design brief for clarity and transparency to encourage staff interaction and fast track best solutions for customers is met by a bright, open plan environment with plenty of light (natural and artificial) and utilising glass, with imagery of personnel, its business partners, and expressions of the company's core customer values, for partitioning.

ADT specified 200 Oblique desks in white on the strength of their practicality and cost effectiveness.

Yes Telecom Head of HR, Sacha Medina acknowledges that the system has also helped meet its needs.

"We are experiencing a more personal interaction amongst staff by structuring the desks in a bench set-up as opposed to silos of cluster configurations," he says.

"Third level screen based storage helps keep desks clear while PCs are hung under desk tops to keep the floor equally clutter free.

"Oblique performs well," says Sacha.

"It's practical to work and live with, and helps make the aesthetics of a great working environment." The Oblique furniture programme offers fast-assembly, free-standing desks for administration and executive areas, full systems for the general office, as well as simple, stylish bench solutions.

The design is available in wood veneer (maple, walnut or cherry) with a stainless steel frame, and with a simple silver leg frame and a choice of six mfc finishes; both versions maintain the pure lines of this stylish furniture system.

Complementing the desks is a full range of individual and departmental storage solutions.

From a basic platform for meeting and conferencing needs to a sophisticated workstation with comprehensive screen-based, at-hand third level storage, Oblique meets the diverse and changing dynamics of the workplace with style and ease.

Yes Telecom's installation enjoys the luxury of space: anticipating future growth, the company is presently using only 75-80% of its floor area occupancy and anticipates increasing staffing levels to 200 shortly.
