Vent-Axia unveils heat recovery unit range

A Vent-Axia product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team May 29, 2008

Vent-Axia has launched the HR100R/RS range of easy to install, self-contained heat recovery units, purpose-designed for single bath/bedroom applications in hotels, nursing or care homes

The HR100R/RS can successfully ventilate these spaces in compliance with new Building Regulations for bathrooms and WCs, recovering up to 70% of the heat that would otherwise be wasted by ordinary fans.

Vent-Axia's top access HR100R unit is suitable for loft installations while the bottom access HR100RS is ideal for location above suspended ceilings.

Both models extract stale air from the bathroom, replacing it with fresh air from outside.

The two air paths flow through the unit's heat exchanger where most of the heat is taken from the extracted air, transferred to the incoming air and delivered back into the bedroom to raise the supply air temperature and reduce relative humidity.

This ensures compliance with the energy efficiency recommendations contained in Part F and Part L of the Building Regulations.

It meets the Building Regulations requirement for bathroom ventilation while simultaneously recovering valuable heat that would otherwise be exhausted to the atmosphere.

These units are designed to operate quietly, incorporating a single, low-noise two-speed motor that is enclosed and rated for continuous, low-volume ventilation with a boost option.

A variety of control devices are available for manual or automatic speed control, so it can be tailored to individual applications.

The HR100R/RS range is compatible with standard 100mm ducting for connection to internal grilles and external cowl.

The HR100R/RS range can be a cost-effective alternative to larger systems that may require a smoke damper in the ducting between each fire compartment.

Through effective ventilation, the new HR100R/RS range can help protect properties from the damaging and costly effect of mould growth, eradicate dampness and reduce humidity levels inside a building.

It provides an extract performance up to 77m3/h FID capacity (balanced airflow) and is capable of improving indoor air quality, removing allergens and the conditions in which they thrive.

All products within the Vent-Axia range of heat recovery systems are fully supported by the company's quick response, technical support team.
