Bank counts up savings with new Vent-Axia solution

A Vent-Axia product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Nov 13, 2008

Vent-Axia teamed up with Maleon to provide an energy efficient on-demand ventilation system for Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, one of the world's largest banks.

Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, the world's fifth largest financial institution, has its European Operations Centre based in central London's Finsbury Circus.

As part of an ongoing renovation project, building services engineers Maleon identified performance and maintenance issues with the ventilation system and selected Vent-Axia's on-demand solution, Sentinel, as the ideal replacement.

"We are committed to promoting energy conservation through design" says Richard Woods, Design Engineer at Maleon who chose the ventilation system based upon the client's brief.

"Vent-Axia Sentinel ticked all the right boxes for this project".

"It is designed to offer ventilation appropriate for the number of people in the space, so providing greater energy efficiency than the existing ventilation system".

Vent-Axia's cutting edge Sentinel ventilation system utilises the latest control and EC/DC motor technology to respond to the exact ventilation requirements of a room at any one time.

This eliminates the risk of under and over ventilation, saving energy and ensuring optimum comfort levels for occupants.

The system controller of the Sentinel on-demand system can trigger automatic operation according to air quality, PIR, humidity, time clock or thermostat readings.

The fan units are available as either single units or twin units for 'run' and 'standby' applications and for automatic load sharing in high duty applications.

Fan sizes range from 100mm to 500mm for both singles and twins with airflow from 0.01 to 1.2m/s at pressure up to 650 Pa with backward curved impellers.

Vent-Axia's Sentinel on-demand system is part of the Vent-Axia Lo-Carbon collection of energy saving ventilation solutions.

The aim of the Lo-Carbon initiative is to offer the latest low carbon ventilation technology in order to reduce building energy consumption and so carbon emissions.
