International interior and fashion designer John Rocha has selected Vicaima doors for his pioneering collaboration with Crosby Homes in Birmingham.
The landmark Orion Building development, designed by Crosby in conjunction with John Rocha and BBLB Architects is now entering its final phase and features Vicaima doors throughout the building.
A total of 3,000 doors have been supplied in Walnut Natur real wood veneer for the apartment front entrances and white finished doors for the interior.
Occupying a strategically important corner site in the city centre, the completed project will revitalise a once-derelict area, creating vibrant street-level scenes, with the high profile 25 storey tower, forming a new focal point along one of the city's key routes.
John Rocha is an internationally renowned fashion designer who has branched out into designing home-wear and more recently has been involved with his own hotel design projects.
He has now broken new ground with Crosby Homes to select and design the specification for these apartments and design the communal areas in and around the development.
Peter Johnson, managing director of Vicaima said: "Vicaima is rapidly making a name for itself among the interior design cognoscenti for the beautiful aesthetics of its doors".
"The quality of our timber, veneers, beading, inlays and glazing is second to none and the range of looks allows designers to make doors an item of beauty above and beyond being just a functional object".
The Orion Building is a 90 metre tall high rise residential building in the centre of Birmingham.
Construction of the tower began in 2004 with demolition of the previous building on the site and the original fauade has been incorporated into the new design.
The development consists of studio, one and two bedroom apartments, four premier suites and a unique penthouse suite, with a 24 hour concierge area that features a water wall, brown leather panel walls and natural stone floor.
All properties benefit from secure underground parking.
Managing director of Crosby Homes (Special Projects) , Keith Pepperdine says: "The prime location, together with the unique combination of the Crosby and John Rocha name has become a winning formula".
"And with the proven local demand for quality property and good design, we are confident that this project has great potential.".
