Vicaima responds to growing demand in construction industry for environmentally friendly products with launch of its new Ecodor range.

Vicaima is responding to the growing demand in the construction industry for environmentally friendly products with the launch of its new Ecodor range Ecodor, which has been Forest Stewardship Council certified, is one of the first fully finished veneer-type doors to be FSC-approved for the UK market and follows Vicaima's commitment to being an environmentally responsible manufacturer

The range uses the company's pioneering continuous pressure laminate technology to create a product that is durable and of exceptionally high quality as well as environmentally sound.

Available in six finishes - oak, ash, steamed beech, cherry, maple and wenge - and as a plain flush door or with decorative grille and glazing options, Ecodor can be specified as FD30 and FD60 fire performance door as well as a non-fire door.

It can be ordered as part of Vicaima's Portaro door and frame kit system, enabling quick and easy assembly, and also as a police-approved Secure by Design interior front entrance system.

"We are seeing growing interest in certified materials from sustainable sources in the building sector," says Peter Johnson, Managing Director of Vicaima UK.

"There is an increasing requirement, particularly in social housing, for environmentally responsible products.

Ecodor made its first public appearance recently on the Arnold Laver stand at Ecobuild and we were immediately taking orders.

"The FSC is a highly respected organisation and its certification of Ecodor means a lot to us.

We want our customers to be assured of the highest standards in the origin of timber, product quality and management systems throughout the Vicaima organisation".

The Forest Stewardship Council is an international not-for-profit organisation that rewards good forest management.

Its Chain of Custody certification provides a guarantee about the path taken by raw materials from the forest to the customer, including all successive stages of processing, transformation, manufacturing and distribution.

Vicaima takes its environmental responsibility very seriously and has committed to minimising pollution, using renewable timber sources and to monitor all products and systems for their ecological impact.

As part of this drive, FSC products will increasingly form a substantial part of the Vicaima range.
