Linden Homes goes green with Vicaima

Vicaima's Ecodors have been chosen by Linden Homes for its latest housing project in Chippenham, Wiltshire.

The award-winning housebuilder is in the process of completing 256 eco-homes at the Market Quarter, on the site of the former Cattle Market in Chippenham, Wiltshire.

The 161 apartments and 95 houses have all been designed to be rated as 'EcoExcellent' and feature building products from sustainable sources throughout.

"We chose Vicaima's Oak Ecodor because of its rare combination of stunning design and excellent green credentials" says Steve James, Buyer at Linden Homes.

The Ecodor has been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and is one of the first fully finished veneer-type doors to be FSC approved for the UK market.

The FSC's Chain of Custody certification guarantees the path taken by raw materials from the forest to the customer including all stages of processing, transformation, manufacturing and distribution.

The Ecodor range uses Vicaima's pioneering continuous pressure laminate technology to create a product that is durable and of exceptionally high quality as well as being environmentally sound.

Vicaima has supplied Linden Homes with more than 1600 Oak Ecodors, most of which are FD30 Fire Doors.

To suit the high levels of design, which feature throughout the development, Linden has also specified some doors with factory-glazed openings.

In order for the new homes to be rated as 'EcoExcellent' by an independent assessor, Linden Homes is also specifying high levels of insulation, A-rated energy efficient appliances to reduce fuel and water consumption and is installing internal recycling pods to the kitchens to aid in the sorting of all domestic refuse for recycling.

The Eco-homes are designed in a variety of styles and will feature signature architecture and landscaping.

Internally the specification will be high with luxury designer fitted kitchens and pristine white bathroom suites, all carried out under Linden's meticulous attention to detail.
