Vicaima introduces innovative glazing option

A Vicaima product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Nov 20, 2007

Vicaima has introduced new design option to glazing panels of its internal doors.

A multi-paned cassette has been designed using stainless steel lights, which are like traditional leaded lights but with all the properties demanded by the buildings of the 21st Century.

The stainless steel lights are being manufactured for Vicaima by Nigel Gilbert (Steelights), who specialise in fire rated glazed panels.

The glass, which is suppplied by Pilkington, can be inserted in hundreds of different patterns and can be clear, tinted or textured.

Specialist glass treatments are also available, including glass etching, embossing and enamelling, to suit clients' individual requirements.

The new steel light glazed panels can be made to any size and will be available across the full range of Vicaima doors, including FD30 fire doors.

Fire doors featuring these glass panels have already been tested and certified by Chiltern Fire.

"These new glazed doors are simply stunning and are ideal for apartments, hotels and contemporary office spaces" says Peter Johnson, managing director of Vicaima UK.
