Improved Vitrulan glass lining fleece
Vitrulan's new VPP200 Glass Lining Fleece has been designed to provide an even smoother finish than the original VPP130 fleece, as well as being less brittle and much smoother to the touch.
Vitrulan, the world's leading supplier of glass wall coverings, has launched a new improved version of its revolutionary VPP glass lining fleece to the UK decorating market.
The development is set to accelerate the growing trend away from traditional lining papers and towards safer and far more durable glass lining fleeces, especially since VPP200 is designed to dramatically reduce time spent on decorating and refurbishment projects.
Not only is it supplied in 1 metre-wide rolls in a box designed to be cut down and used as a trough, a layer of pigment is added during the manufacturing process to act as the first layer of paint, taking a whole stage out of the process.
It is also hung by pasting the adhesive onto the wall rather than onto the fleece, doing away with the need for a pasting table and making it easier to move into position on the adhesive bed.
This combination of benefits means that VPP200 will enable any decorator to complete a job twice as quickly as they would with traditional lining paper.
Chris Sheppard, UK sales manager for Vitrulan, said: "This new development comes at a time when UK decorators are starting to realise the major benefits of glass-based wall coverings".
""Glass wall coverings have been used widely in other parts of Europe for more than 20 years, but it's still a relatively new concept in the UK.
"VPP200 is amazing to handle, extremely easy to hang and no other wall covering will give you such a smooth, high-quality finish".
"Until you've used it, you can't appreciate how much quicker you can complete your client's project".
VPP200 is manufactured from compressed glass threads and is accredited to Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Class I - the same class as baby clothes.
Its nearest competitor only achieves Class IV.
Not only does it perform like a dream, its capabilities go far beyond those of a traditional lining paper, which has gone largely unaltered since its 18th Century origins.
VPP200 is extremely durable and low in elasticity, thus providing genuine reinforcement to the wall substrate.
It will hide existing cracks and prevent new hairline cracks from forming.
Once a coat of paint is applied, it can be washed, scrubbed and disinfected without fear of damage, as glass doesn't wick moisture in the same way that a paper filament does.
Once painted, VPP200 is also fire rated to Class "O" standard.
The product can be used in any environment where a smooth, painted finish is required, from homes to public buildings and offices.
Its high durability means it is ideal for high-traffic areas such as hotel corridors, while its stability in humid environments means it's also ideal for bathrooms and kitchens.
