The company was mindful to ensure that each process adhered to the requirements of the listed building guidelines.
"We are commissioned to supply and install our flooring throughout many of London's premier commercial and residential locations, so we were naturally delighted to work with the project team at Southbank Centre to ensure that the new floors within the Royal Festival Hall were in keeping with their environment", commented Shane Williamson, Managing Director of Victorian Woodworks Contracts.
The refurbishment of the Royal Festival Hall has seen London's iconic Grade I listed building restored to its original modernist glory, while significantly upgrading its acoustics and facilities, returning the Hall to its rightful place as one the world's great concert venues.
Staff and production facilities have been moved into a brand new extension building, creating an extra 35 per cent of space in the Hall for public use.
Almost every single surface of the 2,788 seat auditorium has been painstakingly removed, adapted, restored and reinstated, to create a warm and generous acoustic space for audiences and performers alike.
Stunning riverside cafes, rooftop terraces, the flagship 'Skylon' restaurant, double size interval bars and outdoor balconies with panoramic views of The Thames complete the experience.
