Victorian timber supplied for luxury accomodation

A Victorian Woodworks product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jun 26, 2009

Victorian Woodworks has supplied premium timbers for installation throughout The Crazy Bear which boasts luxurious accommodation and is documented as the oldest building in Beaconsfield.

The Crazy Bear has been uniquely designed to offer 'elaborate luxury', where restraint or compromise knows no bounds! There is a choice of English and Thai restaurants, bar, cocktail lounge, private dining and conferencing facilities, swimming pool and terraces where even the most discerning of guests could not fail to be impressed.

With an unsurpassed portfolio of prestigious hospitality flooring projects to their credit, Victorian Woodworks were delighted to provide a selection of their timbers.

- Antique Face Character Grade Burnt Oak Boards, hand finished in a Chesley Square Texture, were provided for the restaurant areas and reception area.

- Engineered Hoxton Gallery Reclaimed Planks, in a Timeworn Texture and semi-finished were supplied for The Hunting Lodge, where guests can enjoy a unique private dining experience, or benefit from an 'away from it all' business meetings venue.

- Antique Original Weathered Desert Oak Planks was used for wall cladding in The Hunting Lodge.

Sandblasted, raked and DA sanded unfinished by Victorian Woodworks, the effect is striking, and complementary to the overall design.

The Library purveys a more traditional ambience for a business meeting or private dining gathering, with a giant wall bookcase, burr walnut boardroom table, highly lacquered gold and black wall panelling, and an abundance of embossed leather and chandeliers.

The floor therefore had to be something that would merge with the extravagant and elegant interior design.

- Antique Face Burnt Oak Parquet de Chantilly panels, hand finished with wax were chosen as they exude a rich sophistication of style and luxury.

- Original Faced Antique Beam Facings for installation throughout the fifteenth century building was also supplied.

Jason Hunt, Owner of The Crazy Bear said, "Victorian Woodworks listened to, and understood our unique brief perfectly".

"They delivered a range of luxurious timber solutions that far exceeded our expectations, and complemented the elaborate luxury that is synonymous with The Crazy Bear, Beaconsfield".
