Following the completion of a new state of the art science centre, the students of City and Islington College London are putting the new facilities to the test and thanks to the expertise of Washroom Washroom's Specialist Joinery Division, the results are looking good.

Undertaking works in four distinct areas of this prestigious university department, Washroom Joinery was responsible for the manufacture and installation of LG Hi-Macs solid surface perimeter lab tops and island units, with bespoke laminate under carcassing including all sinks, taps and sanitary fittings.

Constructed as part of a GBP60 million programme to refurbish and extend the existing college buildings, the new science centre will provide a modern and effective learning environment that will bring together the four disciplines of optics, forensics, sports and bio-medical sciences.

Washroom Joinery was therefore required to ensure that the facilities in the finished classrooms and laboratories were both attractive yet functional and able to meet the rigorous demands of a busy college department.
