50 New Features In Version 5.5 Of InfoWorks
The latest release of InfoWorks, the hydraulic modeling software suite from Wallingford Software, includes over 50 new features, advancing its leadership in the hydraulic modeling package market.
Paul Banfield, Sales Director of Wallingford Software Ltd, explained "Our product development strategy has always focused on delivering the best and most productive user interface, as well as the fastest and most robust simulation engines and solution of hydraulic equations.
This latest release, Version 5.5, further increases this productivity, aided in particular by extensions to the graphics handling capabilities of InfoWorks." The InfoWorks Open Data Import Center manages links with external data, and with this release it now includes direct import from AutoCAD and further integration with ArcGIS.
With this latest enhancement, InfoWorks covers the graphical requirements of a very high proportion of modeling users through its powerful links with the ESRI, MapInfo and AutoCAD products.
Many of the developments such as the Open Data Import Center extended functionality are generic across all of InfoWorks, extending the benefits of a common user interface across all modules.
There are also specific additional functions in each of the three modules including: * InfoWorks RS extends support for automatic model building, with the capability to import a number of graphical models and sections from different sources and to integrate these into composite ground models by automatic re-scaling and merging.
*InfoWorks WS performs Demand Area Analysis within the model, calculating flow balance and undertaking leakage analysis, a process that usually requires export to spreadsheets and subsequent manual analysis.
* InfoWorks CS includes further improvements in managing spatially varying rainfall and groundwater modeling.
Paul Banfield summarised, "Like all our product development, the features in this latest version reflect the close consultations we continue to have with our customers.
This customer focus resulted last year in record sales of InfoWorks, InfoNet and FloodWorks through our offices and distributors all around the world.
Because it progresses the product in the direction the market seeks, this latest version of InfoWorks should ensure that we continue our consistent year-on-year growth.".
