Wallingford Software Expands Staffing In China
Wallingford Software has announced the appointment of Ms Vivian Dou Qiu Ping as Customer Support Manager for its Shanghai office.
Wallingford Software developer of market leading data management and network modeling software for the worldwide water industry, has announced the appointment of Ms Vivian Dou Qiu Ping as Customer Support Manager for its Shanghai office.
A highly experienced engineer with a Masters degree in Water and Wastewater, Ms Vivian Dou Qiu Ping worked previously for Hongyang Software Limited at Tongji University in Shanghai where she was responsible for the modeling of water supply and distribution systems and the provision of software training and technical support.
Weijun Zhang, Business Development Manager for Wallingford Software in China believes that Ms Vivian Dou Qiu Ping will directly help to grow the company's business in the local region: "Ms Vivian Dou Qiu Ping's professional background is very relevant to Wallingford Software having participated in research to develop a GIS for the Tianjin Trade Free Zone drainage system and similar projects.
Ms Vivian Dou Qiu Ping will assist me directly in client liaison, user support, software testing, training and in customer presentations." Since opening its China office last year Wallingford Software has embarked on a number of initiatives to raise its profile in the country.
In May this included participation in the China Water Exhibition in Shanghai at which Wallingford Software presented a well received seminar on 'Cost effective tools in urban pipe network management'.
Other initiatives have included the launch of a Chinese language web site and the release of a Chinese version of InfoWorks, the company's flagship hydraulic modeling software solution for water supply and distribution, urban drainage and collection systems, and river systems and flood forecasting.
Customer success has come quickly with the Institute of Hydropower and Water Resources of China (IWHR), a key national organization specializing in Water resources and Flood control, purchasing FloodWorks and InfoWorks RS from Wallingford Software for application in their flood warning and decision support projects.
