Wallingford Software has appointed Sistemas De Ingenieria Civil y Ambiental SL (SICA) as its exclusive distributor in Spain.

Wallingford Software, one of the world's leading developers of network data management and hydraulic modelling software, has appointed Sistemas De Ingenieria Civil y Ambiental SL (SICA) as its exclusive distributor in Spain.

Based in Madrid, SICA is an established water consultancy throughout Spain and has acquired extensive experience of InfoWorks through work with existing users including Eptisa, Paymacotas, Mejoras Energeticas, Fulcrum, Universidad de Valencia, Universidad de Gerona, Universidad de Zaragoza, Universidad de Granada and Universidad de Madrid.

SICA's Manager, Eduardo Martinez is very optimistic about the future for InfoWorks in Spain: "Modelling is well established in Spain with many cities already modelling their water distribution and wastewater systems including cities such as Alicante, Almeria, Valencia and Bilbao, and these projects have used InfoWorks for their models.

But Spain has huge potential in the future too.

Our water and environmental problems are growing and there is a general recognition that we need to manage our water resources better.

InfoWorks software can help a lot in the design and operation of water systems whether wastewater, water supply or river systems, to ensure that this limited resource is used wisely and efficiently.

"InfoWorks is great software, available in Spanish, excellent at managing data efficiently, and gives very accurate results that save both time and money.

Spanish customers now have the added benefit of local support and expertise and we look forward to providing an excellent service to our clients, partnering with customers in the best use of models to resolve local issues." In addition to selling Wallingford Software's products, SICA will also provide local support and undertake some environmental and water engineering related projects including hydraulics and hydrology models, acoustic impacts, soil pollution and environmental impact studies.
