Wallingford Software, a leading developer of hydraulic modeling and network data management software for the worldwide water industry today announced two further sales in Italy.
The engineering consultancy, MMI, has purchased InfoWorks RS, Wallingford Software's hydraulic modeling solution for river systems, while the engineering consultancy, Studio Bavagnoli, has acquired a licence for InfoWorks CS, the hydraulic modeling solution for urban drainage.
MMI is a small, dynamic engineering consultancy with close links to the University of Milan through its Director, Prof.
Mancini, an academic at the University.
MMI is using InfoWorks RS for the further development and study of the hydraulic behaviour of the rivers Toce and Dora Riparia and other catchments in the north of Italy.
The engineering consultancy Studio Bavagnoli has acquired InfoWorks CS to develop sewer master plans for various municipalities in the vicinity of Milan.
Alessandro Gallina, Marketing Manager of HR Wallingford (Italia) Limited, explains why InfoWorks is increasingly popular with hydraulic engineers in Italy: "Italian water utilities are beginning to appreciate the value of network modeling and this is partly driven by legislation that is now emphasizing the importance of running the water industry efficiency.
As a result, utilities must know the location of their assets and how they are performing.
In Italy there are a number of firms who have already invested a lot in this area and others will soon follow.
Once the concept and value of network modelling is understood, selecting the correct modeling package is of fundamental importance.
The Wallingford Software brand is quite well known together with the tremendous track record of InfoWorks suite.
This, coupled with local support and Italian language software menus, gives Wallingford significant competitive advantage.".
