Wallingford Software appoints Mexican distributor
Wallingford Software has appointed the engineering consultancy, ACCSISA de CV, as its new distributor in Mexico.
Wallingford Software, a leading developer of hydraulic modeling and network data management software for the worldwide water industry, has appointed the engineering consultancy, ACCSISA de CV, as its new distributor in Mexico.
ACCSISA will have sole distribution rights throughout Mexico for InfoWorks hydraulic modelling software, InfoNet asset data management system for water and wastewater networks, and the FloodWorks real time flood forecasting and event notification system.
Based in Monterrey, ACCSISA (Asesoria en Control de Calidad, Construccion y Servicios de Ingenieria S.A.
de C.
V.) is a design and engineering consultancy working in the construction, telecommunications and environmental sectors.
Esteban Colunga Ramirez, head of ACCSISA's Depto.
de Tecnologias e ye Informatica and responsible for water networks, believes that there is a considerable need for Wallingford Software's solutions in Mexico: "We anticipate continuing high demand for InfoWorks, FloodWorks and InfoNet from Mexican water companies".
"In Mexico City and other heavily urbanized regions InfoWorks CS for wastewater networks will prove very beneficial in planning effective capital infrastructure improvements".
"In certain arid regions, InfoWorks WS for water supply and distribution will be more important to help ensure an adequate supply at acceptable water pressure".
"In southern tropical parts of the country there is a great need for InfoWorks RS and FloodWorks in order to help forecast the kind of river flooding experienced in recent years that has led to dams overflowing into lagoon areas." ACCSISA has a long-standing relationship with Wallingford Software having been instrumental in the sale of InfoWorks RS to the Mexican water authority, the Comision Nacional del Agua (CNA).
Other local customers also include SADM - Servicios de Agua y Drenaje de Monterrey - the water and sewerage authority of Monterrey, and the City of Piedras NegrasCommision Federal de Electricidad (CFE), Commision Estatal de Agua de Gauanajanto and others.
Estaben Colunga believes Wallingford Software's success in Mexico will be much aided by having local representation in the country: "Previously, Wallingford Software was represented in Mexico by the company's Texas-based North American company".
"Having representation in Mexico itself will make it much easier for some local companies to consider Wallingford Software as a potential supplier." ACCSISA recently exhibited InfoWorks and InfoNet at Expo Nationale de Aagua 2005.
Existing Wallingford Software customers presented papers to the event conference, including SADM, CNA and the University of TiapasChiapas.
The company has also been busy translating InfoWorks documentation into Spanish which is much appreciated by local customers.
