InfoNet V3.0 offers greater GIS integration
InfoNet version 3.0 deepens its GIS integration with ArcView, MapInfo, and Autodesk
The latest release of Wallingford Software's InfoNet solution strengthens its integration with the leading GIS systems to enable users to leverage and add value to their existing investments in asset data.
Further enhancements in the new version include extended multi-user access, and a greater support for surveys and operational maintenance.
InfoNet is a network asset management system purpose designed for users to store, integrate, validate and analyze their network data to provide accurate information and reports, both up-to-date and historical, on hydraulic network infrastructure and performance, presented in easy-to-use formats.
Among many enhancements, the new version offers:.
* interaction with GIS layers via SQL/Spatial Query, allowing InfoNet access to all other geo-referenced data within a corporate database, a tremendous benefit to all users.
* truly concurrent access to network data - always a multi-user application, InfoNet now supports both access to and modification of data by all users simultaneously, with rigorous handling of contention and conflict reporting.
* extended reporting - already supporting a number of formatted reports plus flexible reporting, new reports cover defect summaries, sewer reporting, and reports using CH2M HILL SCREAM TM which evaluates asset conditions and other risk factors to generate a ranking of assets.
* further support for survey data - InfoNet stores extensive data on all assets, including survey data; the latest version includes support for various further survey types, including flow surveys and pipe sampling surveys for water distribution.
Paul Banfield, Sales Director of Wallingford Software, explains the rationale behind the developments: "We've extended InfoNet in all its key areas.
As with all our products, we link as closely as possible to the commonest GIS products in our industry, and we've enhanced this back-end integration in the new release.
At the application level, we've introduced extensive new support for surveys, operations, and maintenance.
Finally, our portfolio of reports continues to grow to address the reporting burden faced by our users around the world.
"As the requirements on our users continue to grow in terms of analysis and reporting on assets, we will continue to automate these processes, enabling engineers to get on with higher level tasks as InfoNet handles their asset data management requirements.".
