Robertson Roofing of Mobberley, Cheshire and Ward Insulated Panels have teamed up to install Ward Topdek at Tesco, Batley.

The winning team saved considerable time on the roofing installation, enabling the store to be opened ahead of schedule.

The store located on Bradford Road, Batley is the latest Tesco store to be constructed using Ward Topdek, the insulated membrane roof deck panel solution.

To complete this project, Ward supplied 6500 m� of Topdek which is part of the Ward Firesafe range of LPCB insurer approved products.

In an exclusive deal between Ward and Tesco, Topdek is the design standard specified for each of the supermarket giant's new flat roofed stores, wherever appropriate.

Ward has supplied Topdek for a number of new Tesco stores including Scunthorpe, Doncaster, Beckton and Stalham in Cambridgeshire.

The roofing contractor, Robertson Roofing has more than 2 years' experience of installing Ward Topdek.

John Mulvey, Director explains: "Early completion on a store is especially good news for Tesco, enabling the doors to be opened to customers ahead of schedule!" Prior to Ward's supply deal with Tesco, Topdek was subject to rigorous testing to ensure that it met Tesco's exacting standards.

The main contractor, Taylor Woodrow tested the composite membrane panels for acoustic and thermal performance.

Topdek has achieved outstanding results in essential air leakage tests, with a record low air leakage rating.
