A Ward Insulated Panels product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Dec 14, 2005

Ward Insulated Panels, in conjunction with SFS intec, has introduced a new self-coring fastener designed to reduce installation time of Topdek insulated single ply roof panels.

Ward Insulated Panels, in conjunction with SFS intec, has introduced a new self-coring fastener designed to reduce installation time of Topdek insulated single ply roof panels by over 60% when fixing to heavy steel purlins.

The self-drilling, case-hardened carbon steel fastener can be inserted directly into steel sections with a thickness between 4 and 14mm without pre-drilling the steel, when driven with the SFS intec installation tool.

In this way, significant installation time savings can be achieved.

A unique integral core cutting spiral blade enables the fastener to be installed in one quick and easy operation, thus eliminating separate coring and plugging of the panel.

A lighter version of the fixing is also available for cold rolled purlins.

The SFS intec SD14 fastener is fully tested and approved by Ward Insulated Panels .
