Arla Foods specifies Ward Topdek
Ward Insulated Panels has supplied single ply insulated membrane roof panel, Topdek, for Arla's dairy at Stourton, Leeds.
Ward Insulated Panels has supplied 5000m2 of its single ply insulated membrane roof panel, Topdek, for Arla's dairy at Stourton, Leeds.
Arla's £75m investment at Stourton dairy provides processing facilities for fresh pasteurised milk for the major retailers as well as for Cravendale PurFiltre.
Hathaway Roofing completed the installation using a new self coring fixing screw which resulted in considerably faster installation time.
Ward Topdek is an all-in-one roof panel comprising a trapezoidal steel deck, PIR insulation core and an integral PVC outer membrane.
The PIR insulation provides a fire rated core approved to LPCB standards.
The recently developed self coring and self tapping fastener, unique to Ward, eliminates the necessity for the traditional three stage coring and drilling process and features a torque internal drive and spiral cutting washer which flattens out once installed.
Stephen Price, Marketing Director at Hathaway Roofing comments: "We were extremely impressed with the speed of installation of Ward Topdek".
"The large roof area and tight project deadlines meant Topdek was well suited to this project and provided us with a competitively priced alternative to traditional multi part single ply roofing assemblies".
The architects for the Arla Foods processing facility was DTR:UK and DLC.
The main contractor was Carillion PLC.
