New eco friendly coating from Ward

A Ward Insulated Panels product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Oct 3, 2008

Ward Insulated Panels launch Ward XL Forte, a durable environmentally friendly, pre-coated steel outer skin available in an increased range of colours.

It also has improved UV resistance offering advanced colour retention and a warranty of up to 30 years to first maintenance.

Replacing Ward's XL200 finish, new Ward XL Forte is a highly durable, organic coating option for Ward's widely specified IP, DR and DW range of insulated roof and wall panels.

The coating contains no heavy metals and is phthalate-free.

It poses no health or contamination risks to the user or the environment and is 100% recyclable at end of life.

Frank Atkinson, Ward marketing manager, said: "The development and launch of Ward XL Forte underlines Ward's continuing commitment to new product development and innovation".

"The new colour palette adds even more colour options to the existing Ward range, giving architects and specifiers a broader scope for choice and imagination".

"Popular existing colours and the classic leathergrain finish of Ward XL200 have been retained, to enable exact matching to existing building envelopes".

Ward XL Forte is suitable for external use on commercial, industrial, retail and leisure developments, making it one of the very best systems on the market today.

It is resistant to corrosion, ultra violet light, humidity, abrasion and chemical attack, offering reassurance to specifiers and building owners alike.

Established for over 30 years, Ward Insulated Panels is one of the UKs leading manufacturers of composite roof and wall panels.

All Ward ECOsafe panels incorporate an environmentally sustainable FIREsafe PIR insulation core, which is fire tested to the relevant LPCB standards.

Ward panels contain no ozone-depleting blowing agents and are classed as non-hazardous with zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP), are Green Guide 'A' rated and receive a credit under the BREEAM 2006 assessment criteria.
