Trigon is a barrier pipe system designed for the safe transportation of potable water across contaminated land and is resistant to the external attack of acids, akalis, sulphates and chlorides.

Wavin Plastics has added to its Trigon PE barrier pipe system with the addition of 63mm pipe and fittings, providing developers and water authorities with a system diameter suitable for multiple service supply areas.

The Trigon system now includes 63mm x 25m and 63mm x 50m pipe coils, 63mm straight couplings, male and female couplings, equal tees, branch saddles and 63mm 90 degree elbows.

Trigon is a barrier pipe system designed for the safe transportation of potable water across contaminated land and is resistant to the external attack of acids, akalis, sulphates and chlorides.

The installation of the pipe means that former brownfield sites are a viable proposition for development, relieving the pressures on green belt land.

The pipe is a unique multi-layered polyethylene and aluminium barrier pipe that consists of three layers; an inner standard blue PE80 core pipe which is approved for transporting water, encased by an aluminium layer double coated with adhesive providing an effective barrier to the ingress of contamination.

The outer sheath of PE is marked with distinctive brown stripes, allowing easy identification.

"With major restrictions on green belt land and Government targets for 60 per cent of new housing to be developed on brownfield sites, the supply of potable water across contaminated land is a major issue for developers and water providers," states Simon Green, Wavin Plastics, category marketing manager.

"These latest additions to the range, strengthen our offer and ensure that there is a complete barrier pipe solution available for multiple service supply areas," said Simon.

Trigon pipe is also available in 25mm and 32mm service sizes and is supplied in 50m coils.
