NIC Telescopic Adaptor from Wavin Plastics

Wavin has launched the OSMA Non-entry Inspection Chamber (NIC) Telescopic Adaptor for use with a range of standard covers and frames within the Osma Below Ground Drainage systems range.

Wavin has launched the OSMA Non-entry Inspection Chamber (NIC) Telescopic Adaptor for use with a range of standard covers and frames within the Osma Below Ground Drainage systems range.

The OSMA NIC Telescopic Adaptor can be used with 4D943, 4D945 and the 4D946 covers and frames providing them with telescopic properties, when used with the Non-entry Inspection Chamber System.

The adaptor is designed to accommodate sloping ground levels, and provides finishing level height adjustment the system.

The new Telescopic Adaptor has been designed to comply with Approved Document H (England and Wales) and the Scottish Technical Handbooks and offers easy installation via push fit connections and hand tightened screws for quick assembly.

With a 350mm internal restricted access, the Telescopic Adaptor unit is suitable for deep access chambers greater than 1.2 metres deep.

Denise O'Leary, from Wavin Plastics commented: "Approved Document H (England and Wales) and the Scottish Technical Handbook make provision for a reduced access inspection chamber as an alternative to a manhole at depths greater than 1.2metres.

The OSMA Non-entry Inspection Chamber system can be installed to a maximum depth of 3 metres and enables all inspection and maintenance to be carried out from ground level".

In regard to restricted entry the legislation's were enforced to ensure that accidents and fatalities could no longer occur as a result of people falling or from the health and safety aspects of working within confined spaces.

Denise continued: "The Telescopic Adaptor, has been designed to work in conjunction with the Non-entry Inspection Chamber system to accommodate sloping ground levels and provide height adjustment where needed.".
