A Wavin product story

Hepworth are running a promotion which allows new customers to pick up a free 100mm pipe cutter to encourage best practice.

Recent research has shown that many installers are not using the right tools to cut their clay pipes, so Hepworth are running a promotion which allows new customers to pick up a free 100mm pipe cutter to encourage best practice.

The move is designed to help installers unfamiliar with best working practice to improve the speed of cutting clay pipes, reducing time and saving cost with every cut.

Whilst smaller diameter clay pipes, such as 100mm and 150mm product used in around the house drainage, can be cut with stihl saws, by far the quickest and easiest method is to use a purpose-designed pipe cutter.

The cutters typically cost about GBP80.

Explains Robert Allcroft, Clay Category Manager at Hepworth Drainage: "There is a natural tendency for users of alternative systems to think that cutting strong, high performance clay pipes is both difficult and time consuming".

"In practice you can cut 100mm clay pipe easier and quicker than alternative products".

"As with most construction jobs, the key lies in having the right tools".

"Since ease and speed of cutting is an important consideration for most installers, offering the tool free to new users helps ensure they get a real feel for the practical, as well as the performance, features of clay".

Clay pipe chain cutters are simply wrapped around the pipe and tightened to give an accurate, neat cut.

A 100mm pipe can be cut using this method in about a minute.

In order to receive a free cutter, new users must register on the Hepworth website at www.hepworthdrainage.co.uk.

Technical advice on clay drainage installation is readily available from Hepworth.

The company also has a team of field service technicians able to provide site demonstrations and assistance.
