Certus, part of Wavin's approach to above ground drainage and plumbing, launch the K1 Multilayer Press-fit Plumbing System for potable, sanitary and heating applications.

The K1 press-fit plumbing system eliminates any need for soldering, welding or thread cutting.

Visual indicators are included in the design, which clearly mark the insert depth of the pipes, so no guesswork is required during installation.

Introduced to enable customers to fit-and- forget whilst providing an efficient installation, this system will provide certainty for Industrial and Commercial projects that often have more challenging design and performance requirements.

Primarily suited to commercial projects such as educational establishments, health facilities, apartment blocks and hotels, the K1 system is lightweight and incorporates press-fit technology for quick, straightward and safe jointing to take the hassle out of installations.

Made from flexible, corrosion resistant MP (Metal Plastic) PEX-C pipe and high quality PPSU fittings with a fixed stainless steel sleeve the system is available in sizes 16mm, 20mm, 25mm, 32mm, 40mm and 50mm.

Incorporating a number of notable advantages over traditional systems and materials, the K1 system is WRAS approved.

Already widely used across Europe, UK specifiers and installers now have the chance to get their hands on this innovative system and capitalise on competitive installation time and costs.

Gareth Samuel, Product Group Manager for K1 is quick to identify the benefits of the system; "The system is dimensionally stable and resistant to oxygen diffusion due to the metal layer in the pipe, which allows it to be located in walls and floors using a detecting device".

"In addition, K1 is resistant to scale build-up and has excellent thermal expansion properties in comparison to copper, so it can withstand high pressure and temperature levels".
