Weyerhaeuser first Lyptus delivery to Ireland
Weyerhaeuser, has delivered its first shipment of Lyptus lumber to Ireland, making stock of the sustainable hardwood range readily available on the ground.
Supplied through distributors D Kantor and Heiton Buckley, Lytpus hardwood is now being kept in stock, reducing lead times and improving availability for the Irish market.
Both Roddy Nevins of Kantors and Jim Sullivan of Heiton Buckley agree that the Lyptus delivery is welcomed in Ireland as the demand for sustainable timber products has been growing for some time.
They are impressed with the flexibility and quality of the product, as compared to traditional tropical alternatives, and are confident that our customers will feel the same.
Offering good machining and turning properties, Lyptus is easy to work with and can accept a variety of finishes.
The timber is exceptionally straight, dimensionally stable and a careful manual pruning regime means there are few knots in the finished product.
These attributes make the wood ideal for high quality applications such as interior joinery, shop fitting and refurbishment, as well as cabinet making.
John Guerin, European commercial director at Weyerhaeuser, concludes: 'The first delivery of Lyptus to Ireland is another positive step forward for Weyerhaeuser in Europe.
Having worked hard to develop a sustainable and guaranteed supply of Lyptus, the priority now is to support our distributor partners by making stock readily available on the ground which this first shipment puts us well on the way to achieving'.
Weyerhaeuser sells to Europe through Weyerhaeuser Products Limited, headquartered in Belgium.
The Lyptus range is supplied to Ireland through LH Kennedy Limited in Dublin.
