For single ply roofing operators requiring to keep their welding machines running at peak performance with minimal downtime, Welwyn Tool has launched a newly designed version of the popular Leister Varimat automatic hot air welding machine which features advanced diagnostics software to help users fulfil timely preventive maintenance schedules.

As the culmination of extensive research and feed-back from existing Varimat customers, the new 'Leister Varimat V' is now packed with electronic indicators to enable users to maintain their machines at optimum efficiency.

Run time hours are monitored and indicated so that, for example, motor brushes can be changed before damage occurs.

A 'service alert' is given after 800 hours operation and protection of the critical hot air heating element is assured through automatic monitoring of the machine's blower.

The need for on-site welders to keep tabs on power supply availability has also been addressed in the new Leister Varimat V design.

Even if welding is taking place some distance from the machine's generator, the user knows how much power he has available via a 'supply used' indicator on his machine.

The Leister Varimat V machines will weld a variety of roofing membranes from 40mm 120mm overlap at speeds of up to 5m per minute.

Temperature and welding speed are electronically controlled and there is a digital display giving SET and ACTUAL values.

The machine is compact, light weight, easily transportable and is designed especially to prevent the development of annoying creases in the welded material.
