Top college of art goes for modular design
Factory manufactured, modular building, designed and built by Wernick Buildings and project managed by Andrew Gilbert of Ward Williams Associates, Plymouth.
First Wernick made sure that the building was well insulated and completely air-tight to eliminate heat loss, as they do for all their buildings.
Then working with Dimplex a decision was made that an under floor heating system should be powered by an air source heat pump.
Between 300-400% efficient, this remarkable technology can even source heat from the air in the middle of a Scottish winter.
This is just one of the environmentally friendly heating and lighting solutions Wernick are able to provide.
With solar panels, sun pipes, ground source pump systems etc, Wernick strive towards better energy efficiencies to give significant savings in running costs.
