BBA certificate ends multi-foil debate
Thinsulex produced by Web Dynamics awarded first certification for multi-foil insulation from the British Board of Agrement.
Since April, the requirement has been to install better insulation in loft spaces.
Despite pressure to resist such change roofers are accepting that there is now a need to comply with the new regulations.
Web Dynamics MD, Nick Searle, believes they can help and is offering free, impartial advice to any customer confused by the requirements of the new regulations.
"These are difficult times in the building trade and the requirements of Part L can be quite daunting.
We want to reassure our customers that we are here to help.
"We realise that these changes will have cost implications for users but it is something that everyone in the industry is facing.
We believe there are benefits to be had from using Thinsulex.
Not only is it the only compliant multi-foil but it will create more space in a loft and in fact take less time to install," said Nick.
"For LABC to point the way to our product as a benchmark is reassurance that we are getting it right and confirms that Thinsulex is a trusted product".
Thinsulex works by boosting the thermal value of glass wool and is proven to cut the installation time for PUR.
It is rolled out during installation to stop air leakage while maximising the gain of radiant heat in the surrounding air.
At the same time it stops moisture contaminating the insulation and saves on internal room space.
The company has produced a range of information sheets to help manage requests for further information.
