Web Dynamics unveils landmark multi-foil

A Web Dynamics product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Nov 9, 2007

Web Dynamics has developed Thinsulex Gold, the world's first air-tight, ventilating insulation to tackle one of the trades' longest running insulation problems.

Thinsulex Gold is part of a new range of multi-foils from Web Dynamics which are set to take the construction industry by storm.

Thinsulex Gold, showcased at Interbuild for the first time, is built around IR 45 - a revolutionary new film which helps manage moisture and is the first insulation to enclose a roof and prevent air leakage at the same time as vent moisture.

The new Thinsulex range also includes :.

* Thinsulex RafterFit - the between rafter multi-foil for 400mm rafters which guarantees a 50mm air gap and replaces PUR rigid board.

Location wings make lining up for stapling to rafters easy and the relevant thickness of PUR beneath rafters enables achievement of the necessary U-value.

* Thinsulex Silver - the across rafter multi-foil which can be used for 100mm and 150mm rafter installations working in combination with glass wool to reduce the total thickness of insulation needed and with PUR rigid board to cut installation time.

Commenting on the launch, Nick Searle, managing director, Web Dynamics said:" The development of our new Thinsulex range has taken several years and involved research with many end users to ensure we understand how our products are being used and how we can best make the installers' job easier.

"The result is a versatile collection of products which will find favour in a range of clear and distinct applications.

We are particularly excited to be unveiling Thinsulex Gold at a time when green issues dominate the headlines.

We predict that Thinsulex Gold will play a major part in the construction of new homes in the future".

From barn conversions to loft extensions, the Thinsulex family of multi-foils are manufactured in the UK and guaranteed for 25 years.

Thinsulex multi-foils reduce installation time for insulating buildings and prevent air flow through glass and natural wool and reduce the thickness required.

Thinsulex combines a core air layer with mirrored surfaces that reflects infra-red heat.

Web ultra-sonic technology joins materials without stitching avoiding air leakage or moisture contamination.

Thinsulex is guaranteed to provide a U-value of 0.2* for 25 years (when installed to BBA Certificate No 06/4379).

Thinsulex is made to ISO9001:2000 and ISO 18001 quality control systems and is certified by the BBA, approved by LABC, accepted by NHBC and qualifies for HIPs.

* Web Dynamics will provide written guarantees for its U-value calculations.
