No more TIPS from HMRC

This has aroused suspicion that it contained too much valuable information for the HMRC to share Fortunately the pack can still be accessed through Wellers Accountants as well as other accounting resources

Tactical and Information Packages (TIPS), available on the HMRC website, are trade/profession-based notes with the primary purpose of supporting compliance activity.
Tactical and Information Packages (TIPS) are trade/profession-based notes historically for internal use by HMRC officers.
However, the TIPS have suddenly been removed from the HMRC website and when challenged as to why the decision had been taken to stop businesses accessing the information, the following response was given: "the packs have been removed whilst we consider a more effective way to make the information available".
Stuart Crook of Wellers Accountants comments: "We can only assume that the HMRC felt they were giving away too much information as the HMRC use the packs themselves when carrying out compliance visits".
"From the construction industry perspective it is well worth reviewing this document, which covers trading practices, economic effects, industry data and trends, markets, customers, competition and legislation".
