Wirtgen Limited exhibited two of the three new Hamm DV Tandem Vibratory Rollers, the DV 40 and DV 90 VV at this years' SED.

These new models incorporate a revolutionary system whereby the driver's seat can be set to automatically turn through 360 degrees whilst the driver operates the steering with a unique multifunctional control.

This means that the driver can choose to drive only in the forward direction, hence no reversing.

These new designs signal new standards in technology, safety and performance.

Another primary Hamm exhibit is the new 80 cm roller - the HD 8.

Also exhibited for the first time in the UK is the Wirtgen W 50 DC Planing machine.

The successful W 500 Planer was superseded by the W 50 DC and its sister machine, the W 50, towards the end of last year.

The W 50 is driven by a Deutz engine with 60 kW power output and mills up to a depth of 160 mm, whereas the W 50 DC has a Deutz engine rated at 92 kW and can mill to depths of 210 mm.
