Wightman Stewart have been appointed UK distributor for Calypso Waterjet and have secured their first order.

Wightman Stewart of Ripponden, near Halifax, Yorkshire has been appointed as the exclusive agent for the UK and Ireland by Calypso Waterjet of the United States and has now secured its first UK order- from a new profiling company, Jetcut of Glasgow.

Based in Dallas, Calypso Waterjet claims to be the fastest growing waterjet cutting table manufacturer in the world and is already renowned worldwide for the quality of its technology.

Calypso Waterjet cutting tables are fitted with KMT Waterjet Systems' intensifiers as standard equipment.

Until now Calypso has had no sales representation in the UK and have set up a distribution agreement with Wightman Stewart who have vast experience in waterjet cutting and other cutting technologies as well as having a long established relationship with the KMT group.

The popularity of the Calypso design has allowed them to grow to become the largest supplier of waterjet machines with KMT equipment in the United States.

The functionality of the Calypso designed CNC control system and software is one of the major advantages over competitive products.

The Windows based system is simple to use and maintain, it can import DXF and other files and automatically calculate optimum cutting paths, speeds, running costs, estimated completion times and many other variables instantaneously.

This provides the user with real-time information on machine performance, part cost control and the ability to make instant decision on any required changes for maximum flexibility and production output.

Overall, the functionality and flexibility provided by the Calypso machine is matched by highly competitive pricing, making it an ideal first time investment in the versatility of waterjet cutting or a second machine with major productivity advantages.

Initially Wightman Stewart will offer five standard Calypso machines with tables from 1.25 x 1.25m to 3m x 12m tables.
