Windowmaster launches new heat exchanger

A WindowMaster Control Systems product story

WindowMaster launch WindowMaster ZoneVent, a versatile new heat exchange system as part of its natural cooling and ventilation control systems.

Called Zone VentT, the new system allows WindowMaster to offer a truly all-year round system that provides cooling in the summer months and enables energy efficient heating in the winter months for spaces which require more than just pure natural ventilation.

WindowMaster ZoneVent consists of a compact decentralised fan unit with built-in highly-efficient heat recovery and is available in three sizes; 300, 580 and 800 cubic metres per hour.

The unit can be operated manually or set automatically to respond to predetermined temperature and carbon dioxide levels to ventilate a room and create the optimum indoor climate.

The fan can be used as a supplement to WindowMaster natural ventilation during very cold weather when the heat recovery optimises the energy use.

ZoneVent is equipped with EC engine technology, ensuring very low energy consumption - SEL values are below 500 joule/m3 air.

The heat exchanger complies with international standards and has a minimum efficiency of 85 per cent.

ZoneVentT can be used as a standalone unit circulating air around a room to manage the interior climate or it can be fully integrated into WindowMaster NV Advance natural ventilation solutions.

WindowMaster's NV Advance weather stations monitor external conditions around the building, including wind direction and speed, temperature and rain fall.

Readings taken from the weather station and sensors fitted internally are analysed and compared to specified parameters.

Windows and Zone Vent are then precisely controlled to keep air quality within rooms fresh and the temperature constant, naturally ventilating the building to prevent overheating and improve air quality.

During the summer months the natural ventilation system automatically flushes the building with air from outside to cool rooms so they are fresh for users in the morning.

This also minimises heat gains during the day so a comfortable climate can be maintained, while retaining security at night.

WindowMaster Zone Vent adds a further dimension.

The system can be supplemented by an optional heater or cooler.

So in summer Zone Vent can be set up to cool the air that passes through it, further reducing the ambient temperature of the room, making the climate more comfortable.

Similarly, in the winter months, if the temperature of the air flushed around the room falls below a certain temperature Zone Vent will heat it, bringing the room temperature up to comfortable levels.

Henrik Caroe Gjellebol, product development manager at WindowMaster, said: "Zone Vent can function either as a stand alone system or as an integral part of WindowMaster's NV Advance natural ventilation solution for indoor climate control".

"It is a very flexible system that is quiet and energy efficient".

"It runs quietly, producing noise level of below 35 db, and can be fitted to either walls or ceilings depending on requirements.".
