Lighting tower uses integrated MOSA
generator
Wilkinson Star has launched StarLight SL55, a lighting tower using an integrated MOSA generator and 5.5 m telescopic steel mast with 4 x 400W metal halide floodlights able to illuminate a 1700m2 area.
Wilkinson Star, the Worsley, Manchester based industrial equipment supplier and sole UK representative for Mosa engine driven welding and generating sets has launched StarLight SL55, a brand new lighting tower package, utilising an integrated Mosa generator and 5.5 m telescopic steel mast with 4 x 400W metal halide floodlights able to illuminate a 1700m2 area Designed to meet the requirements of the hire market for use as temporary building and construction site lighting, road, motorway and airport runway maintenance lighting as well as defence establishment, seaport, rail trackside and event car park lighting, the Starlight SL55 is operated from a Mosa GE6000 SX/GS, 6 Kva 230/110 V diesel generator, which can run for 17.5 hours having a noise output level of 68dB(A)

The lighting tower is manufactured in 4 sections and hot dip galvanised for outdoor applications.
The tower is raised manually using stainless steel cables and an AL-KO winch, having a maximum 350kg cable load capacity and an automatic brake safety device.
It folds almost down to the footprint (length 2,300mm x width 1,570mm) of the generator.
Lifting eyelets and special pockets enable the complete unit, which weighs 375kg, to be easily lifted using a forklift.
It is very mobile being mounted on a 2-wheel mounted trolley with handles, which fold 180deg for easy storage, allowing it to be easily set up by one operator.
Two outriggers adjustable in both height and reach give rigidity to the unit when set up and it is wind resistant up to 50mph Options include the versatility to mount CCTV surveillance cameras and the use of tungsten halogen lights.
