Wilkinson Star, the Worsley has launched StarLight Link 70-M4, a new linked 7m high telescopic lighting tower package.

Wilkinson Star, the Worsley, Manchester based industrial equipment supplier and sole UK representative for MOSA engine driven welding and generating sets has launched StarLight Link 70-M4, a new linked 7m high telescopic lighting tower package Using power from either the mains or from a power generator providing 230V, 3 kVA, each Starlight Link 70-M4 tower can be linked together to illuminated a large area, with each tower able to illuminate 2,000m2 using 4 x 400w metal halide floodlights making it useable both indoors and outdoors

Each floodlight is protected by an individual circuit breaker It has been specifically designed to meet the requirements of the hire market for use as temporary building and construction site lighting, road, motorway and airport runway maintenance lighting as well as defence establishment, seaport, rail trackside, sports stadia, indoor sports arenas, social and entertainment events plus car park lighting.

The ability to link multiple packages together gives the user the capability to illuminate a large area from one power source.

MOSA's GE 6000 SX/GS EAS, 6 kVA 230/110 V diesel generator, which can run for 17.5 hours or their GE 10000 SXC, 10 kVA 230/110V diesel generator, which can run for 10 hours, are available as an option.

Both units have a noise output level of around 69 dB(A).

The lighting tower is manufactured in 4 sections and is hot dip galvanised for outdoor use.

The tower is raised manually using stainless steel cables and a AL-KO winch, having a maximum 350 kg cable load capacity and an automatic brake safety device.

The footprint of the closed unit is only 1,800 mm long x 1,400 mm wide, enabling it to fit on a Europallet, whilst lifting eyes enables it to be easily lifted as it weighs only 240 kg.

It is very mobile being mounted on a 2-wheel mounted trolley with handles, which fold 180deg for easy storage, allowing it to be pushed into position and set up by one operator.

Four outriggers adjustable in both height and reach give rigidity to the unit when set up and the erected tower is wind resistant up to 50 mph Options include 10m connecting cables, the ability to mount CCTV surveillance cameras and the use of 110V tungsten halogen lights.
