Wilkinson Star reports overall business
increase
Industrial equipment supplier Wilkinson Star has reported that the Company's performance during 2007 is it's best for 10 years with turnover up by around 8% on 2006.
Steve Murray, Managing Director, Wilkinson Star reported: "Our overall performance in 2007 has increased significantly with improved sales in welding products, including engine driven welders and generators as well as welding consumables and parts" "In a time when industry is experiencing uncertainty with turmoil in the money markets and worries about energy supplies and costs, our performance has been excellent"

"In addition we introduced a new electronic on-line product catalogue at the beginning of 2007 and formed and recruited a new 'Welding Support Team' comprising Product Demonstrators and Specialist Support Service Engineers to demonstrate, help, advise, train and educate customers on the selection of the correct welding process and equipment for any arc welding and cutting".
2008 sees Wilkinson Star celebrate 35 years in business, with the business expanding to become one of the UK's leading industrial equipment suppliers.
Cebora welding equipment from Italy was the first supplier to be appointed by the Chairman and Founder, John Wilkinson O.B.E.
and they are still represented by the Company to-day.
Steve Murray continued: "We have built our success and reputation based on having skilled personnel with good product and technical knowledge as well as experience in distribution and after sales".
"Through education and training, we have built a team of personnel who are a tremendous asset to the Company and many of them have been with us many years.".
