Transco has taken delivery of an Armcon Cementech MCD10MX150 volumetric cement mixer for trench-filling work in Northwest Yorkshire.
Part of this process will involve the introduction of a national trunking network, allowing bulk loads of product to be moved from the company's manufacturing sites, to consolidation centres around the country.
This process will enable Wincanton to make consolidated deliveries to Wavin's customers on a local level.
The new transport solution will manage nearly 1,000 loads ever week, while still achieving improved efficiencies, reducing the number of vehicles on the road and increasing the reliability of service to Wavin's customers.
The announcement further strengthens Wincanton's offering to the UK construction industry and follows the acquisitions of Swales Haulage last year and RDL in 2006.
Tony Sellick, Supply Chain Director, Wavin, said: "Appointing Wincanton to manage the national transport network for Wavin is a significant development for the company and we look forward to benefiting from the more streamlined approach and operational efficiencies the Wincanton team can bring".
Nick Graham, Business Unit Director, Wincanton, said: "Wincanton's position within the construction sector continues to move from strength to strength".
